Jonathan took this photo when we visited Fort Ticonderoga in upstate-upstate New York in 2009. When we left, we drove down the road and crossed a set of railroad tracks, and we were in Vermont.
After the Revolutionary War ended, area residents turned the fort into their own personal Home Depot by carting away a significant amount of the stone to build their own houses. The fort has since been lovingly restored and preserved. I would definitely visit again if we didn’t live so far away.Tweet
