On Knowing What You Have

Spending some time away from home helps to bring perspective to lots of things. Quickly, some vacation priorities remind me of things I like to do, but somehow I let the time to do them slip. Reading, writing, and spending time just to think are things that help me to relax and help me to solve problems in the rest of life, but I don’t always give myself the proper time to do those things. All of them require getting into a state of mind where thoughts can be free to roam and grow (and pass) in their own time, and getting into that state requires a set of conditions that are not always easy to achieve. One thing I will take away from this trip is that I need to spend my time more wisely so that I can achieve those conditions more regularly. The “state of vacation” certainly helps me to worry less about exactly how I’m spending my time, but there’s no reason why I can’t more consciously budget my available time so that I can do the things that bring me relaxation and help me to grow. That’s all for now, from the land north of the 46th parallel.

Jonathan does a lot of stuff. If you ask Jenny, maybe he does too much stuff.
