“We Need a Political Revolution”

I work in downtown Pittsburgh. Therefore, I’m VERY interested in everything that happens here.

For instance, today I learned that Bernie Sanders will also be downtown. On Thursday morning!

I’m slightly concerned about my commute. At approximately 6:30, my bus will pass the venue where Sanders will speak. The doors at said venue will open at 7:30. So maybe I’ll see lines of kids queuing up for the event.  Just like when I watched everyone line up along Liberty Avenue for the victory parade the last time the Steelers won the Super Bowl.

As a coincidence, this week I am cleaning up files on my computer. Today I found all of the photos that I took of Occupy Pittsburgh in December 2011.

For the record, I had no involvement with or opinion of Occupy Pittsburgh. I learned everything that I know about it from the local news. However, I was curious about it, just like I am curious about most of the people and things downtown.

December is always the absolute busiest time of the year in my office. However, one day in December 2011 I took a break and walked past the Occupy camp. I took pictures. Because I was excited to rubberneck a historical event in progress. Then I walked back to my corporate job.

The announcement of Bernie’s visit inspired me to share these tonight.

To reiterate, I have no shareable opinion of Occupy Pittsburgh. Or of Bernie Sanders.
